What the Anker SOLIX X1 is
The Anker SOLIX X1 is a modular home energy storage system. A hybrid power module (the inverter) connects to one to six 5 kWh battery modules, so one system reaches 30 kWh. Anker offers single-phase power modules from 3.68 to 6 kW and three-phase from 5 to 12 kW. It is controlled through the Anker app and can be paired with Anker's EV charger.
The Anker SOLIX X1 is the alternative we also fit, alongside the SigenStor.

Good to know
- Grow in 5 kWh stepsUp to six 5 kWh modules per system, 30 kWh in all, each with its own optimiser.
- Hybrid power moduleSingle-phase from 3.68 to 6 kW, three-phase from 5 to 12 kW, each with two solar inputs.
- Built for outdoorsIP66 and C5-M corrosion protection, rated for -20 to 55 degrees C, and under 40 dB.
- Read the warranty conditions10 years, for purchases from Anker or its listed partners, and limited to the country of purchase.
- Not for medical backupAnker's warranty says the X1 is not intended as backup for life-support or medical equipment.
- Check current UK availabilityAnker's UK page still carries 2025 release footnotes, so we confirm stock and lead times before quoting.
Price
Adding a battery typically costs £3,000–£7,000 fully installed, depending on size. The survey confirms the size and the price, and we give you a fixed written quote. See typical prices for the full ranges.

Anker SOLIX X1 questions
Can the Anker SOLIX X1 run my home in a power cut?
Anker advertises whole-home backup with 0 ms switching, and off-grid output equal to the on-grid rating of the power module you choose. Which circuits it covers, and what the power module can start at once, depends on the installation, so we plan that at survey. Anker's warranty says the X1 is not intended as backup for life-support or medical equipment.
Can I add more batteries later?
Yes. Each 5 kWh module has its own optimiser, which Anker says lets you add capacity without losing energy. One system takes up to six modules (30 kWh). The power module's output does not rise as you add modules, so a larger battery later may call for a bigger power module or a second system. We check this when we size the first install.
Does it work with my existing solar panels?
Anker's UK page describes hybrid power modules with their own solar inputs, so the usual approach is to connect the panels to the X1, replacing an old inverter. Anker also says its Power Dock Pro can charge the battery from another brand's solar during an outage. The page does not describe an AC-coupled X1 for the UK, so we confirm the route that suits your roof at survey.
How big a battery do I need for my home?
Roughly your evening and overnight electricity use, often 6 to 10 kWh for a Northern Ireland home. The X1 comes in 5 kWh steps, so 5, 10 or 15 kWh are the natural sizes, up to 30 kWh per system. We size from your actual usage because capacity you never cycle earns nothing.
What is the warranty?
Anker's warranty page gives 10 years on the power module and battery module, with the battery keeping at least 80% of its capacity over that time. The battery warranty also ends at 13.17 MWh of throughput or 6,000 cycles, whichever comes first. The page we read is Anker's EU page, which lists a UK contact, and it applies to purchases from Anker's website or its listed partners in the country of purchase. We will confirm the terms that apply to your purchase.
Why might I choose this over SigenStor?
It is a smaller step in capacity (5 kWh modules, against 6.02 kWh and 9.04 kWh for SigenStor), which can suit a smaller home, and it is a slim unit at 15 cm thick. It scales to 30 kWh per system, where SigenStor takes up to six larger modules. Both are lithium iron phosphate batteries with a 10-year warranty. We recommend on your survey results, not on brand.
